Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22nd that aims to raise awareness about environmental protection and sustainability. We are lucky enough to live on Florida's Space Coast and have plenty of opportunities to celebrate while enjoying the region's stunning natural resources!
One of the defining features of the Space Coast is, of course, its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. From surfing to fishing, there are countless ways to experience the ocean's beauty and appreciate its importance. You might consider organizing a beach cleanup or participating in a sea turtle nesting survey to help protect local marine life.
In addition to the ocean, the Space Coast is home to a number of other water features that offer unique opportunities to get outdoors and celebrate Earth Day. The Indian River Lagoon is the most diverse estuary in North America and a hotspot for kayaking and paddleboarding. You can explore the lagoon's mangrove forests and seagrass beds while keeping an eye out fo. ...

September is here and that means Fall is knocking at our door. This doesn't mean much for the weather here on the Space Coast, but we can still partake in the Autumn festivities! Personally, when I think of the Fall, my mind goes to coffee shops and yummy cinnamon drinks.
Here are five local coffee shops you should visit as the heat starts to settle down:
1. Apocalypse Coffee Roasters
Perhaps one of the most unique options in our area is Apocalypse Coffee! A family run business in Melbourne, their mission is to be “the last coffee you will ever need”. Their menu consists of Apocalypse themed drinks and meals. The specialty drinks change every month to keep things new, and September's options are perfect for a fall coffee run!
2. RiverRoad Coffee & Popsicles
RiverRoad is located in Cocoa and has two featured menu items: coffee AND popsicles. There is always something new to try, as they have so many specialty items on their menu. And they just released the; ...

The Space Coast area is filled with activities to do and sights to see. Our 237 days of sunshine allows for a wide range of activities that stand out from other states! Here we have the ocean, rivers, and so many different ways to experience Florida. But when people think of the Space Coast, they usually think of Nasa and the Kennedy Space Center. This area has a lot more to offer than rockets and space attractions!
Here are five activities on the Space Coast that are worth the experience:
The Zoo
Located in Melbourne, The Brevard zoo is not like one you’ve been to before. Not only does it have exhibits of over 180 animal species from around the world, it also offers multiple hands-on experiences for visitors. It has a walk-through kangaroo enclosure, up-close rhino encounter, 5 aerial obstacle courses, zip-lining, giraffe feeding, kayaking around the giraffe exhibit and an aviary exhibit where you can feed the birds. This Zoo is non-profit and focuses on education, conse! ...

Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of badminton, table tennis, racquetball and tennis. Most often there are four
players although it can be played with two. It uses solid paddles made of a composite material to hit a perforated polymer ball that resembles a wiffle ball.
It is played on 1/2 the size of a tennis court. While rallying the ball over a 34’’ net, 11 points take the win, but must be 2 points more than the opponent.
I started playing in February 2020. It's an easy sport to learn, and anyone can play. We have players of all age's, shapes and sizes. We even have players that have had double hip replacements! But don't fool yourself, there is a big element of strategy so it's anyone's game. Best of all, just show up with a paddle in hand and you're ready to play! Pickleball players love to welcome new players and they are
happy to teach you the game. I take my paddle with me when I travel, it's easy to take along and I always find a c; ...

Are you considering relocating to Florida, but not exactly sure where you would like to be? The Space Coast should definitely be on your list. It is a true hidden gem! Located in Brevard County, it is known as the Space Coast because of the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral. From top rated schools to hundreds of parks, it offers so much to do no matter your lifestyle!
First and foremost, you can enjoy endless beaches up the Coast- 70 miles of sand to be exact! These beaches include Playalinda Beach, Port Canaveral, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Canova Beach, Melbourne Beach, Satellite Beach, Indian Harbour Beach, Canaveral National Seashore, Jetty Park Beach and Campground, and Cocoa Beach. Cool off in the waves or enjoy some fishing- you may even catch a dinner for free!
You can also see a rocket launch from your own backyard! Which is pretty incredible. With the Space program booming, there will only be more launches so come on down to witness this incredi; ...
